🌷Chapter 1-90

By the time Gu Lingfeng came out of the shower, Su Ning had already tidied up the bedroom, which was already neat to begin with. The clothes Gu Lingfeng had tossed on the floor—those that could be machine-washed went straight into the washing machine, and those that couldn’t were packed up to be sent to the dry cleaners.

When Su Ning saw Gu Lingfeng walk out of the bathroom wrapped only in a towel, he quickly averted his gaze. "Uh, President Gu, I’ve cleaned up the room. I won’t disturb you further."

He said that and was about to leave.

"Go take a shower." The man’s low voice echoed through the room. Su Ning paused in his tracks, turned around, and looked at Gu Lingfeng.

Gu Lingfeng’s face showed no emotion. His eyes were cold, devoid of any expression, making it impossible to gauge his feelings from his face.

For example, at this moment, Su Ning couldn’t figure out what Gu Lingfeng meant. If he wanted to sleep with him, shouldn’t his tone and expression have been more... inviting? His words almost made it sound like he was assigning him to take meeting notes or something.

“President Gu…” Su Ning hesitated to speak, but before he could say anything, Gu Lingfeng raised his eyebrows slightly and looked up at him.

“Don’t want to?”

“No.” Su Ning quickly shook his head, denying it. He looked troubled. He had no issue with being a personal assistant on his first day, but the thought of starting his first day by being summoned to the bed felt... odd.

Gu Lingfeng’s gaze flickered, scanning Su Ning’s body. “Are you feeling unwell?”

Su Ning didn’t immediately understand the implication of the question, but when he did, his face instantly turned red. He didn’t know where to put his hands.

That day, because Gu Lingfeng had been drunk, his actions had been rough. Su Ning had felt sore for days afterward and had spent the day lying in bed recovering. He had almost forgotten about it until now. But now, hearing Gu Lingfeng mention it, the memories rushed back. His face flushed even deeper, and his skin felt heated.

“No.” Su Ning lowered his head and answered hesitantly, embarrassed.

Gu Lingfeng didn’t say anything further, but Su Ning could still feel his gaze on him. It was cold, indifferent—yet it burned his skin. Under the weight of Gu Lingfeng’s stare, Su Ning stood there for a moment, then slowly turned around and walked into the bathroom.

He took his time in the bathroom, hoping that when he came out, Gu Lingfeng would have grown impatient and left. However, when he opened the door, he immediately met the man’s gaze as he sat at the head of the bed. Su Ning froze in place, unsure whether he felt disappointed or something else.

Gu Lingfeng’s gaze was heavy. Although his expression didn’t show anything, Su Ning felt a tremendous sense of pressure.

Gu Lingfeng put down the book in his hand. "Come here."

Su Ning curled and unc curled his fingers, biting his lip as he slowly walked over.

When he got close, Gu Lingfeng pulled him by the waist and dragged him into his lap, hugging him tightly. It seemed like he didn’t mind Su Ning’s hesitant, slow movements at all. He buried his face in Su Ning’s neck and inhaled deeply.

Su Ning froze, sitting stiffly on his lap, too afraid to move.

Facing the drunken Gu Lingfeng, Su Ning had dared to resist, but now, with Gu Lingfeng sober, he didn’t even dare to breathe. He held his breath, feeling like he was trapped.

He thought Gu Lingfeng might say something, but instead, the man bit down on his neck. Su Ning gasped in surprise and let out a soft "Ah!" before being pushed back onto the bed.

This time, Gu Lingfeng’s movements were gentler than before—though, in comparison to the first night, they were still intense. Su Ning couldn’t bear it, and he cried out hoarsely, finally falling into an exhausted sleep.

After that day, Su Ning’s new career as Gu Lingfeng’s personal assistant began.

He stayed by Gu Lingfeng’s side, taking care of his daily needs, and also handled various affairs outside of the company. To the outside world, Su Ning was just a private assistant to Gu Lingfeng. But over time, everyone knew that this assistant didn’t just live with Gu Lingfeng, but did other things as well.

However, to Gu Lingfeng, Su Ning was nothing more than a small assistant, because he never stopped seeking out new lovers. Gu Lingfeng kept Su Ning close by, occasionally calling on him to satisfy his physical needs, but this didn’t interfere with his frequent nights out and casual flings.

Gu Lingfeng’s attitude toward Su Ning was different from how he treated his lovers. Su Ning was just an assistant to him—someone who could take care of his life and keep things running smoothly.

Sometimes, Su Ning would wonder why Gu Lingfeng chose him as an assistant and also as a bed companion. At the beginning, he had let his imagination run wild, especially since he was the first person to live in Gu Lingfeng’s villa. But as time passed, those fantasies faded, like bubbles disappearing in the sunlight.

It was probably just for convenience, Su Ning thought bitterly.

He had essentially taken on two jobs: one as a personal assistant and another as the boss’s bed companion. Though the latter didn’t happen often, the salary he received for these two "jobs" was more than enough.

Despite any lingering dissatisfaction, all of it disappeared when he looked at the balance in his bank account.

Over the years, Gu Lingfeng had gone through one lover after another, but Su Ning had remained the same. He had become quite adept at handling the breakup issues with Gu Lingfeng’s lovers.

People in the outside world knew that Su Ning had such a position. Some even jokingly said, “A personal assistant for life, but lovers come and go.”

Those comments were part teasing, part disdain, with a touch of carelessness.

When Su Ning heard them, he just laughed it off.

He didn’t think being the assistant was such a bad thing. By industry standards, not many made more than he did. Of course, Su Ning’s job wasn’t quite the same as others—aside from being the boss’s bed companion, he also had to manage the breakup affairs.

This wasn’t an easy job. Su Ning remembered the first time he received a task from Gu Lingfeng: delivering a "breakup fee" to a particularly furious lover. The woman had mistaken him for a new lover, attempting to push him out of the way. Not only did she refuse to take the money, but she also cursed him out, hurling malicious threats.

“You bastard! Don’t think that just because you’ve pushed me out, you’ll be able to take Gu Lingfeng for yourself. Sooner or later, you’ll end up like me—no, your fate will be worse! You’ll lose everything, end up with nothing, like a dog being kicked out of the house!”

Naturally, hearing those words made Su Ning feel downcast. Being yelled at like that, no one would feel good—especially since his main job was to be Gu Lingfeng’s assistant, with the bed companion part just a side gig. Yet, he still had to bear the brunt of all the insults.

Later, those words somehow spread, and some people began calling Su Ning, Gu Lingfeng’s “dog.” Especially former lovers of Gu Lingfeng’s, who saw Su Ning more often than they saw Gu Lingfeng himself. Whenever there were gifts to be delivered, Su Ning was the one who did it. It was only when Gu Lingfeng had a need that he would bring someone else over.

And when breakups occurred, it was also Su Ning who handled things—delivering the breakup fee and absorbing all the anger from the ex-lovers.

Not just one, but several of Gu Lingfeng’s lovers had pointed at Su Ning and said:

“You’re just Gu Lingfeng’s dog!”
