AD Chapter 11
Does the big boss have this much stamina?
As Gu Lingfeng completely covered him, Su Ning had this fleeting thought. He had noticed the fatigue between Gu Lingfeng’s brows earlier and assumed that was why he hadn’t gone to see Chu Zichen. But now, who was the one pressing him down so hard he couldn’t move?
Just as Su Ning was reaching the point of exhaustion, Gu Lingfeng’s phone on the nightstand suddenly rang. The sound snapped Su Ning out of the intimate haze, but the man on top of him didn’t seem to care at all. It was as if he hadn’t heard the ringtone—there was no sign of him stopping.
“Gu, Gu Zong—”
The ringtone kept going. Su Ning called out in a hoarse voice.
A trace of irritation flickered between Gu Lingfeng’s brows at being interrupted. He finally stopped, grabbed his phone, and answered it without even checking the caller ID.
“What is it?” His tone was cold and tinged with suppressed impatience.
On the other end, Chu Zichen paused, sensitive enough to realize that his sugar daddy wasn’t in the best mood. He quickly recovered and said in a sugary, coquettish tone, “Lingfeng, are you still busy? I know you just got back from your business trip—why didn’t you come see me? I haven’t seen you in days.”
Gu Lingfeng, who was indeed “busy” at the moment, brushed him off casually, “Maybe in a few days.”
Chu Zichen pouted through the phone, “But I want to see you now. Come over, okay?”
Lying beneath Gu Lingfeng, Su Ning didn’t dare move a muscle. Because of how close he was, he could hear Chu Zichen’s voice coming through the phone, and it made the current situation feel all the more awkward.
Chu Zichen kept whining on the phone, and Su Ning could clearly sense Gu Lingfeng’s growing frustration. Given their current “position,” he couldn’t help but find it a little funny—though he knew the timing was all kinds of wrong.
Being interrupted in this kind of situation, and still having to coax a whiny little lover… No matter how cold and composed a man was, anyone would lose a bit of their usual calm.
As Gu Lingfeng frowned and listened to Chu Zichen talk, he suddenly glanced down and met Su Ning’s half-smiling expression. His gaze darkened instantly. Su Ning’s heart skipped a beat.
Not good, he thought.
The next second, Gu Lingfeng suddenly thrust forward hard.
Caught off guard, Su Ning let out a soft gasp and immediately bit his lip, glaring at Gu Lingfeng.
That had to be on purpose!
Gu Lingfeng looked down at him with a straight face, as if he were in a serious board meeting and had done absolutely nothing just now.
That suggestive sound reached Chu Zichen through the phone, and his alertness kicked in. He instantly asked, “Who was that? Who’s with you right now?” His voice rose to a sharp, accusing pitch.
Gu Lingfeng finally lost all patience, hung up the call, and tossed the phone onto the nightstand—like that call had never even happened.
And perhaps it was just Su Ning’s imagination, but he felt that Gu Lingfeng seemed a little less composed than before the phone rang.
Was it because he was mad at Chu Zichen? Or had he done something to upset him?
In his apartment, Chu Zichen stared at his phone with a dark expression, practically burning a hole through the screen with his glare. His chest heaved, and suddenly, he threw the phone forcefully to the floor.
There was someone in Gu Lingfeng’s bed!
Realizing this made jealousy burn hot in Chu Zichen’s chest. He wanted to storm over and catch them in the act, but what little rationality he had left warned him that doing so would only infuriate Gu Lingfeng. And he knew—his agent had warned him many times—what the consequences would be if he crossed that invisible line.
Even before he got involved with Gu Lingfeng, he knew the man had many lovers. But not one of them had ever been able to keep him.
When Chu Zichen first got with Gu Lingfeng, the word was that the man had just broken things off with his last lover. It was supposed to be a “window” period. So who was the one lying in his bed now?
Chu Zichen frowned, thinking hard. That voice… unfamiliar, but also somehow familiar. It had to be someone he’d interacted with recently.
Suddenly, Chu Zichen’s eyes widened. He remembered.
It was that assistant who’s always by Gu Lingfeng’s side.
—Su Ning.
That assistant was named Su Ning.
Ever since Gu Lingfeng returned from his business trip, he had been tied up with company matters and hadn’t gone to see Chu Zichen even once. Not a single phone call, either. Meanwhile, Su Ning had been by his side constantly—personal assistant by day, driver by necessity, and cook by night for the boss who always came home.
Su Ning had assumed, given what he knew of Chu Zichen’s temperament, that the other man would have blown up by now. As Gu Lingfeng’s right-hand man, if the boss’s love life went up in flames, he was the one who’d have to put it out.
But the past few days had gone by surprisingly peacefully. Su Ning murmured to himself.
Hope this isn’t the calm before the storm.
Then again, he’d seen past lovers make a scene before. No matter how big the mess, once things reached Gu Lingfeng’s ears and truly annoyed him, the outcome was always the same: swift and clean breakups. If they kept clinging—whether for money or for love—Gu Lingfeng had plenty of ways to make people “disappear” quietly.
Thinking of how young Chu Zichen still was, Su Ning couldn’t help but feel a little sympathetic. Still just a kid, really.
But it wasn’t his business anyway. All he had to do was keep up with the boss’s pace.
When Gu Lingfeng finally finished handling his work and had time to go see Chu Zichen, Su Ning secretly let out a sigh of relief.
Not because he cared about Chu Zichen, but because the longer it dragged on, the more likely it was that Chu Zichen would explode—and that would be much harder to deal with.
Like most salaried office workers, Su Ning had one simple wish:
Less work is better.
Too bad he relaxed a little too soon.
